What We Believe
Our beliefs come from the Bible alone. We hold them humbly, and we keep studying, because God's truth keeps unfolding.
1. The Bible. The Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God and the final authority for faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
2. The Father and the Son. The Father and Jesus are distinct, co-eternal members of the Godhead. Jesus is fully God, the Creator of all things, and worthy of the same worship as the Father. (John 1:1-3; Colossians 1:15-17; John 5:22-23)
3. The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit convicts, guides and lives within every believer, leading us into all truth. (John 16:13; Romans 8:14)
4. Salvation by faith. No one can save himself. We are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus, who died for our sins and rose again. Faith shows itself in a humble, obedient life. (Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 3:28)
5. New birth and baptism. Every person must be born again by the Spirit. Baptism by immersion is the public sign of that new life. (John 3:3-5; Romans 6:3-4)
6. God's law. The Ten Commandments reveal God's character. Keeping them does not earn salvation, but the Spirit writes them on the hearts of those He saves. (Hebrews 8:10; Romans 7:12)
7. The Sabbath. The seventh day of the week is the Lord's holy Sabbath, a sign that Jesus is our Creator. (Exodus 20:8-11; Mark 2:27-28)
8. Death and resurrection. Death is like a sleep. The dead in Christ will rise when Jesus returns and receive eternal life. (John 11:11-14; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
9. The last days. The prophecies of Daniel and Revelation describe real events still to come, including a time of great tribulation, the sealing of God's servants and a final conflict over worship. (Daniel 12:1; Revelation 7; Revelation 13-14)
10. The return of Jesus. Jesus will return visibly and in glory. He will take His people to heaven for a thousand years, and afterward sin and sinners will be ended forever. God will make all things new. (Matthew 26:64; Revelation 20:4-6; Revelation 21:1-5)
Our understanding of prophecy draws on the work of Larry W. Wilson (Wake Up America Seminars). We welcome honest questions from every background.
